The Glijun stream, fed from the groundwater of the Kanin Mountains, falls into a 20-meter-wide and 12-meter-high curving waterfall that cascades down a rocky slope. Under the waterfall, a beautiful pool of greenish color is formed, surrounded by lush vegetation and moss-covered rocks.Although the sight of the Virje waterfall invites you to refresh yourself in summer, the water is ice-cold and bathing in pools is forbidden. Nearby it is also possible to see the karst spring of the Glijun stream and the Plužna reservoir.

From the center of Bovec we drive up towards the church of Bovec or Kanin village. We then continue to the village of Plužna, where at the crossroads a signpost to the Virje waterfall stands. We park in a paid parking lot. To the Virje waterfall leads a marked, steep, but well-maintained path, which is suitable for everyone.
