Kayak school
Is kayaking school for you?
Would you like to grasp the basics of kayaking or improve your existing knowledge? The Kayak School is suitable both for complete beginners as well as for those who wish to improve their kayaking skills. You will learn how to sit in a kayak and hold the paddle, how to paddle, when and how to paddle in a straight line in calm water and through river rapids. You will learn the "Eskimo roll." We will teach you how to safely stop when you paddle into an eddy and when you encounter an obstacle; how to catch an eddy and manoeuvre out of it. We will teach you the correct paddling sequences, safe paddling in more demanding sections of the river, and how to paddle through waves and breaking waves. We recommend the 5-day course to complete beginners, the 3-day course to returning kayakers who wish to improve their knowledge, and the 1-day course to kayakers who wish to freshen up their skills for the new kayaking season. We adapt the classes according to your wants and needs. For instance, if you do not feel at home in a kayak, we will devote more time to perfecting your technique in calmer sections of the river; conversely, if you are a fast learner, we will speed up the learning process to be able to teach you more. At the end of each day, we will devise a plan for what we will learn the next day.
